Irish Blessing: May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face; the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

"While it may not appear so on the surface, Kensington Green is one of the riskiest records we've produced", reflects Mike Muscarella, the southpaw guitarist and primary songwriter of Violet Mary.   "Violet Mary has always been just on the edge of popular.  We still make records... sometimes double-albums!  We don't take ourselves too seriously.  Everything revolves around the song; her honesty, her authenticity and her passion."

On Kensington Green, Muscarella and the band put all three of those virtues on display.  "When we approached writing this record, Mel [lead vocals] was completely tapped.  She was so heavily weighed down by the state of affairs in 2020 and overwhelmed to the point of being speechless.  I, on the other hand, felt like I had stories to tell and, frankly, some demons to exorcise."  Kensington Green features 11 songs, mostly written from Muscarella's perspective,  takes the listener through a series of vignettes; stories of grief, lose and addiction that lead to a renewed sense of hope and empathy.

"So much of this record is personal for me.  Many of the songs are based on specific timestamped memories or conversations.  And not all of the names were changed!"   Kensington Green goes live on July 16th, 2021 on all retail and streaming platforms through Rags Records.   "I hope that the listener can find themselves and their stories within the songs.   And, if nothing more, I hope the record finds its way into your heart and soul like it did mine."
